Users can run OPC Expert without administrative permissions. Users can diagnose problems, connect to local and remote servers, and access their data.
But some functionality needs administrative permissions to setup. For example, to run OPC Expert as a Windows service necessitates administrative permissions to setup. Of course, after the initial setup, users will no longer need administrative permissions.
To remove the warning altogether, use either option below:
- Option 1: OPC Expert menu options
- In OPC Expert’s main menu, select (Tools > Options)
- Uncheck option “Show warnings when starting OPC Expert”
- Option 2: OPC Expert command-line (CLI) option
- On the desktop, right-click OPC Expert’s desktop shortcut and select option “Properties”
- Change option Target (including quotation marks) as below to:
“C:\Program Files\OPC Expert\OPC Expert.exe” /NoPrompt
