This technical session explores how to connect Microsoft Excel directly to OPC servers for seamless access to real-time and historical process data. Using OPC to Excel, attendees will see how to read, write, and analyze live values alongside stored historian data without complex configuration or scripting. The session will cover OPC DA, HDA, and UA protocols, showing how to perform calculations, build trends, and generate reports entirely within Excel. Live demonstrations will include setup, data retrieval, and error handling to ensure reliable operation in production environments.

Learning Objectives:

• Connect Excel to local and remote OPC DA, HDA, and UA servers for both live and historical data.
• Configure and manage data subscriptions without programming or registry changes.
• Use Excel formulas, charts, and pivot tables to analyze OPC data for operational insights.
• Implement strategies to recover from network interruptions and server outages while ensuring data integrity is maintained.
